In the city centre since 1882

Rikhardinkatu Library building is 140 years old this year. The neo-renessaince style building was designed by Theodor Höijer.

In its time, the building was a first building to be designed as a public library in the Nordic countries. To this day it has offered its users stories, information and encounters in the city centre.
