Reading animals in Espoo libraries
Reading to a animal like a dog helps children to relax and have fun reading. The animal doesn't judge or correct. The child can read at their pace and feel someone is listening, in their own language.
The owner of the animal is always present to guarantee a peaceful environment. They do not correct or interrupt the child.
The furry reading companions can be found in several Espoo libraries. Check the list below for our current reading assistants. You can also find them in the library events. The list is updated during the year.
If you have questions or queries, please contact us at kirjasto.lukukoira@espoo.fi.
